About the Gallery

Art Gallery Linn opened in 2021 and is the second largest art gallery in Kristiansand. Art Gallery Linn shows and sells a wide range of contemporary art on behalf of international, national, and local visual artists and craftsmen. Free admission.

The gallery is only two blocks from Markensgate (the city's pedestrian street) and is located on the corner of Skippergata/Festningsgata. It features a 190 m² art gallery on two floors. Downstairs we have both an exhibition and banquet room/meeting room for rent for up to 12 people. On the 1st floor we have a meeting room for rent for up to 6 people. The premises, which were completely renovated in 2021, are inviting with unique interiors built from aspen that have been stored outside for 2 years for a rustic look, with marble slabs and blue glass that are leftovers from the famous artist Kjell Nupen's large decoration assignment in Søm church in Kristiansand.

The building was built in 1956 and was designed by the famous architect Thilo Schoder - a key member of the Bauhaus school. Festningsgata 34 has Thilo Schoder's trademarks (Southern Modernism) with round shapes and the rounded house corner, which has become a popular exhibition space for works of art facing the street. Espen Hennig-Olsen started the gallery on August 13, 2021, and he was the gallery's CEO for 2 1/2 years.

Art Gallery Linn creates a unique art experience by concentrating on original artworks where the focus is quality, diversity, style, and depth. We have connected with exciting artists from Scandinavia, and at times we have works from Southern European and American artists. We offer both visual arts and crafts.

We sell and disseminate contemporary art in different styles and price ranges. We deliver art to private individuals, companies, organizations, and public institutions. We can take on larger assignments, deliveries and installation at hotels, institutions, and companies. Many works are framed at our skilled partners Haavik Rammer og Kunst AS in Kristiansand with Artglass (anti-reflective UV glass).

We do our utmost to put the spotlight on quality, and to create value and trust, for both artists and clients with our professionalism and expertise in contemporary art. The gallery emphasizes innovation and stimulates new and experienced artists to highlight their unique qualities and style. Our niche is original paintings (oil and acrylic) with high artistic quality, and this is recognized by our regular customers.
